- Description
- Canada Day was the theme that we chose to celebrate with our rock collection. Marlene Donaldson painted flowers for her sister and hid the stone in an outdoor planter, where it was quickly found and appreciated. Sharon Rusk painted a scene from Presqu'ile Provincial Park, a Canadian flag and an Ontario Coat of Arms. She placed these stones in her front garden, for all who pass by to enjoy. Lynn Hamilton painted poppies and white crosses for her husband, a Canadian veteran and placed the stone on the edge of his bird bath. Lynn also painted a Canadian flag and a kayaking scene for her daughter who is visiting from Australia. The stones were hidden in her "welcome home" gift bag. Cora Haisma was our most industrious artist and painted five stones: flowers for her sister, a frog for her brother in law and three more for family members visiting from BC.
