We are the Go-Getters (Judy Taylor, Carol Herbert, Elizabeth Potter, Rebecca Potter and Sheila Greason).
We felt that a log cabin represents the early days of the Women’s Insititute when the ladies met in each others homes. Log Cabins were built to provide shelter from the cold winter winds.
Often, there was one large room inside heated by a fireplace. Stairs would go upstairs to a loft where some of the family would sleep. Because there was no indoor plumbing, each cabin would have an outhouse. Visits to the outhouse were short (especially in the winter) and remember, our motto is For Home and Country.
We called our creation The Little Meeting House in the Woods.
