The president was in tht chair and asked the Secretary to read the minutes of th¢ last meeting which were moved by Mrs. J.H. D«zidson: seconded by Mrs. Chisholm, be adopted, carried. Lunch was served consisting of tasty biscuits made by Mrs. J.H. Davidson and a delicious 1,2,3,4 cake mad¢ by Mrs. Moshier for each of which the recipe was give"« Mrs. Alex Stewart who was to have given a talk 0" homemade bread and buns was not present and in ¢35 of Mrs. Stewart not being present, Mrs. A. Chsho!" will speak on the same subject. Moved by Mrs. A. Chisholm, seconded by M George Hawes, that Mrs. J.H. Davidson explain the process of making tough beef steak tender at the nex! meeting. Carried." by Mrs. Earlby Foster The following are community things that the Lion's Head W.I. assisted with, or donated to, or carried out: I Donations to the Red Cross Water Safety Pro-- gramme (yearly). II Two people of W.I. assisted each month at the Well Baby Clinic. III Cheer Boxes for sick and shut--ins and the Nurs-- ing Home every December. IV -- Cards to anyone in the village sick or bereaved. ¥ Two Hostesses or more to the Bruce County Museum for a day in July or August yearly. VI Help and talent for the Variety Concert held in Wiarton for funds for Bruce North District. VII _ Prizes every yearfor the Fall Fair. VIII Hosting other W.I.'s in Eastnor, Lindsay and Albemarle, and returning visits. ' IX Cancer Society canvass was carrtied out for many years by the W.I. X -- Lunch was served after the meetings, Pot Luck suppers were enjoyed at W.I. anniversaries. XI Pennies for Friendship were collected at every meeting to assist women in poorer countries through A.C.W.W. (Assoc. Country Women of the World). XIL Supported yearly an adopted child (a project of Bruce North District). XIII Prizes to school children for the best student in sach class was carried out.for many vears.
