4H "Cutie Cutters" The eighth and final meeting of the Lakeside Cutie Cutters was held on April 14th at the home of Sharon and Pam Mcâ€" Guire. All members answered the roll call telling one new sewing technique I have learnâ€" ed from this project.:/The minâ€" utes of the last meeting were read by Pam McGuire. Laurie King told about the lucky winâ€" ner of the Easter Egg draw. This ticket was drawn by Mrs. Marg Mills of Lakeside General Store. The lucky winner was Mr. R. Crowder, math teacher at St. Marys District Collegiate and Vocational School. Laurie King was the seller of the winâ€" ning ticket. Plans for Achieveâ€" ment Day were discussed, and then the girls worked in their blouses and record books. Beâ€" fore hot chocolate and cookies were served by Mrs. McGuire, a fashion show was presented by the members, commentator being Laurie King. Conference. _ Mrs. Vining reported on the Area Convention that was held in Clinton and Mrs. Jas. Morrison gave a short report on the short course, Crewel Embroidery, with 14 of the members attending. Plans were made to have a desâ€" sert euchre late in the month. Mrs. Clayton Kew was the conâ€" venor for the program on hisâ€" torical research and commented on the motto, "In wildness is the preservation of the world." Mrs. Lawrence Taylor displayâ€" ed the â€"Tweedsmuir â€" History books and commented on some of the work that had been done in the book. Mrs. Kew presentâ€" ed a monologue. Meeting The December meeting of the Lakeside Women‘s Institute was held Wednesday, Dec. 1st with the president Mrs. Jared Vining presiding. Mrs. Vining opened the meeting with the Ode and Mary Stewart Collect and a Christmas carol with Mrs. Frank McLeod at the piano. The roll call, "A Christmas Thought" was answered by 29 members and several visitors. Mrs. Willis Ball, convenor for program opened with a carol. She then commented on the motto "Spirit of Christmasâ€"Others." Solo by Mrs. Alvin Wills with Mrs, Lloyd Alford at the piano.
