ci) Lakeside Ontario ', 1908 - 1944 This binder contains Lakeside and surrounding area photographs from 1908 to 1944 by the late Daniel Earl Wilson and Family. Many photos were separated and chosen to comprise a story for presentation on March 6,2002 of Lakeside Village community life at that time. Prepared by DR. Wilson's grandson, Daniel James Wilson of London, Ontario The Lakeside Community was a hub of activity at this time with the operation of two General Stores to serve the area plus both maintaining fi1el pump gas service. we 'uA.ttldttt my, . The village had a doctor/ supported two church's, a mill for livestock chop, a , blacksmith, a water tower, barber, telegraph facilities, Royal Mail Post Office with general delivery, a one room school house and teacher, railway service plus a C.P.R. Station. There were Ladies Institutes, clubs, Ladies Aid, forerunner to the United Church Women, Anglican Women's Association, Mission Band, Young Peoples, The Orange Lodgeand The Fraternal Order of Masons (Doric Lodge 569). The village had a pool hall, a ' summer dance pavilion and Lake Sunova, a spring filled lake with . fishing/recreational swimming and the name for the village itself.
