AUGER SAFETY was featured at the Kintore Optimist Club's Farm Safety Day at A.J. Baker School. Students from A.J. Baker and Wildwood Park schools were entreated to demonstrations by agricultural representatives. Women's institutes also won recycling award Congratulations to The London Free Press on receiving one of the awards from the Recycling Council of Ontario at its recent award ceremony. It is great to know that a paper such as The Free Press is showing environmental leadership be- hind the scenes as well as in the printed word. Unfortunately, as we are a volunteer organiza- tion on a shoestring budget, we cannot take out a full-page advertisement to let the public know that we won one of the Recycling Council of On- tario's awards. _ Did you know that the group that won the Outstanding Organization Award at the same ceremony has many members right here in Southwestern Ontario and many of the projects they did right here helped to win their award? Lilia Outstanding Organization Award was STONETOWNE QUILTERS GUILD donated four lap quilts to residents of Kingsway Lodge. Pictured above left to right are: Carrie Cole, Marion Munro and Jessie Mitchell. presented to the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario for its efforts through education, demonstration, advocacy, and for its commit- ment to advance reduction, reuse and recycling throughout Ontario and successfully affect pub- lic behavior. Normally, we are an organization that does not blow its own trumpet, but we are proud that Recycling Council of Ontario has recognized the Federated Women's lnstitutesof Ontario as the Outstanding Organization in Ontario for its envi- ronmental leadership. LAWN AND GARDEN EQUIPMENT SAFETY was one of the themes at the Kintore Optimist Club's Farm Safety Day last Thursday. Students from Wildwood Park and A.J.
