The pine tree represents the wondrous pine forests that stood -which was used for homes, furni- ture, cradles, and coffins. The hill on which our pine tree rests symbolizes "Saw Mill Hill" still there to-day. Kipling's first little industry started 1904. The fish were plentiful in Deer Lake and our restocking programs are working. The fish is also symbolic of the scandinavians love for herring - pickled or otherwise ! 3
