In 1881 she married John Hoodless of Hamilton, They had one son and two daughters, She was founder of the Federated Women‘s Institutes of Canada, and bheld.the first meeting on February 17th., 1897, at Stoney Creek. 4 She founded the Ontario Normal School of Domestic Science and Arts in Hamilton, She enâ€" listed the interest of the tobacco magnate, William (later, Sir William) Macdonald, who, as a result of her influence, founded the Macdonald Institute at Guelph, Ontario, and Macdonald College, St. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec. Mrs. Hoodless was one of the founders of the National ‘Council of Women, of which she was the first treasurer, 1893 â€" 1901.
