She was educated in the Beachburg schools and later on April 13th, 1884 was married to John J. Dougherty. She lived all her life in the Beachburg vicinity. She was a Charter Member of the Beachburg Branch, being the first Viceâ€"President when it was organâ€" ized in 1904. Three children blessed their union; one son, Leslie of Pembroke, Mrs. John A. Brown (Frances), deceased, and Mrs. Alex Barr (Myrtle), also deceased.
