About 50 head of cattle were in the barn at the time the fire was first noticed at 7 pm. but were freed from the burning structure and were not injured. The barn was located on the farm of Ken Green, of RR 1 St. Pauls, who operates the farm in parnership with his brother Doug. The Downie Ellice Volunteer Fire Department from Sebringville were called to the fire and sprayed water on a nearby pig barn to prevent it from also catching fire. A corn crib next to the barn also escaped dam- age from the fire. Fire department spokesmen were not available for details this morn- ing but a neighbor who witnessed the blaze said faulty wiring may have been the cause of the fire.
