LORD AND LADY TWEEDSHUIR LORD TWEEDSMUIR was born in Scotland on August 25, 1875. He was the son of Reverend John Buchan which is also the name of Lord Tweedsmuir. He was a historian, novelist and Governor General of Canada from 1935-1940. In 1935 he was titled Baron Tweedsmuir. He died in Montreal in February 1940. LADY TWEEDSMUIR, Susan, was the wife of our beloved Governor General, has written many plays and children's books. She was an ardent Women's Institute member in England, and was made an honourary life member of F.W.I.O. She returned to England following the death of her husband and in 1962 was still living there. It was her suggestion that these books were commenced to be compiled.
