Times were not easy then and we remember him spending hours studying to become a School Teacher; eventually becoming a High School Department Head. When our Mother died of cancer he was left with 3 young children ‘ and was fortunate to find Ida who was his close companion and wife for 26 years. He was happiest at. the cottage, putten'ng away at same project with a symphony playing in the background. He was thrifty. exasperating us when we discovered him reshingling his own roof at age 83, lamenting that they no longer make 30 yr. shingles (sorry Father, they don’t match our siding and we're redoing them). We miss you. In Fathers memory the fatnin has purchased and donated a 5 acre parcel addition to the Petrel Paint Nature Reserve at Red Bay, Sincerest thanks to Alan Stacey of the Nature Conservancy of Canada for their considerable {forts in securing this landfor us.
