BRUCE SOUTH DISTRICT ANNUALS by Mrs. Victor Emerson District Airator 1971 District Annual was held in Tiverton Presbyterian Church with Mrs. Wm. Arnold District President and Mrs. Angus McLeod Sec. Trees. presiding. The Theme of the meeting was- "How much we yearn to receive. How little we yearn to give." A number of guests from other districts were introduced also Grey Bruce Area President Mrs. Harald Blazing. Mrs. Emerson Emke of Hanover Federated Womens Institute of Ontario Board Director ratified the District Directors & gave her report of Provincial Board meetings. All conveners had 100% reports. The Roll Call was answered by District Directors telling of a New Idea or a Joke. Teeswater w.I. entertained with humorous misical numbers. District Directors meeting will he at Purple Grove March 1972, and District Annual at Teeswater 1972. 1972 The Bruce South w.I. District Annual was held at Teeswater with said branch as hostess. The theme of the meeting was Mrs. Hoodless & Erland Lee lit a candle 75 years ago. Let us continue to reflect its light when 124 members met in Teeswater town Hall with Mrs. w. 3. Arnold President presiding. Secretary Treasurer Mrs. Angus MacLeod read a letter from Korean child & the donation was raised to 25¢ member. Mrs. Emerson Emke brought Greetings from Provincial Board and gave her report. Ways to remember an active memberâ€"-W.I. cup & saucer contributing Membership or one of Miss. Chapmans Books Standing Committees had 100% reports. Mrs. Stewart Farrell was newly appointed curator. Hrss Judi Reasbeck home economist in Bruce County spoke on 4â€"H project. Ripley branch entertained with a panel on the lines of "Act Fast". The newly elected District President was Mrs. Jas. Kirkpatrick of Ripley. 1973 The District Annual was held at Belmore with over 100 ladies present. The theme for the meeting was "Like is Learning”. President Mrs. Jas. Kirkpatrick presided. Mrs. Alvin Mundell was pianist & Mrs. Frances Boyle song leader & Mrs. Frank Maulden secretary treasurer. Mrs. Emerson Emke P w 1.9. Board Director brought Greetings from Provincial Board and Mrs. Harvey Houston Provincial P.R.O. also brought greetings. Greetings were brought from Bruce East by Mrs. Fred Frear,Grey South by Mrs. Jas Milliqan and Bruce Centre by Mrs. M. Gowanlock. District fees and national Delegate fees increased to 25¢ per member. Area convention at Chatsworth United Church Oct. 29-30. A curator workshop is to be held in Lucknow June 21. Home economist Miss Barbara DeVisscher gave an outline of short courses. 1974 On May 21 Bruce South District w.I. held the Annual meeting in United Church Ripley with 115 members present. Mrs. Jas. Kirkpatrick District president presided. Rev. Carnochan & Mrs. Graham Cook president of Ripley branch welcomed menmers. Many members were wearing Bruce tartan & GJengarry hats made by w.I. members to advertise International Plowing match to be held near Walkerton in SepL. 1976. District President Mrs. Kirkpatrick spoke on themeflflappiness". Greetings were brought from Bruce North‘Eastland Centre & Grey South Districts & from Greyâ€"Bruce Area, Mrs. David Ireland of Teeswater was newly elected District President. 1975 Bruce South w.1.
