In 1925 consolidation of schools in the Apsley area was attempted and Mr. Roy Brown of Apsley acted as secretary. In 1927 consolidation was dissolved. In 1926, the school term was extended to ten months of the year, Septemb r to June. u The attendance in the year 1931â€"1932 v 3 three pupils. This was the lowest attendance recorded in the s hOOl history. In 1933, Highway No. 28 was constructsl from Young's Point to Apsley, and the road past the school was straightened leaving no access to the school site. In the summer f 1935, the SChOOl was moved to Lot 18, Concession 12 on the highvay. This one acre of land was-bought from Mr. Duncan Brown for $70.00. The old school site was handed back to Mr. Bert McIlmoyl, grandson of the original owner. Laura Ashenhurst later Mrs. Malcolm Tucker was the teacher at that time. In 1944-1945, Mrs. Norman Wilson was the teacher. One of the achievements during this year was the planting of trees. The pupils and teacher, Mrs. Roland Tucker of the Apsley school came down » to take part in the planting of trees on Duncan Brown's lot next to the school. The following year when Mrs. Tucker was teacher at this school, the pupils planted trees in places where the first planting had died. Mrs. Tucker taught there until June 1949. In 1952, when Apsley Central was built, the school was closed and pupils bussed into Apsley Central School. Submitted by Mildred Tucker
