The Millgrove Women's Institute planned this event in well- deserved recognition of Edna's sixty years of service in their Branch. Active she has been and active she still is!!! Edna has served as President of the Mill- grove WI for three separate terms and Secretary for one. She also served as Presi- dent of the Wentworth North District WI. In 1974, she received her Life Membership from her Branch. Edna was one of thOse farsighted members who urged the purchase of the Lee Home to be used as a Museum. Edna has served her church and community with devotion and enthusiasm. She has been an active member of the local church. ceme- tery. fair. library and park Boards. A park and a library are only two of the community improvements that she saw fulfilled. As well as working with her late husband on their market gardening farm, and raising her three children, Edna has developed many hobbies at which she excels. She has ex- panded her love of flowers through her lovely watercolours. Her quilts, crocheted and knit- ted afghans and needle work grace the homes of her three children. grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Notthe least of her talents is Edna's love for a game of cards. NGO status means that our views are re- quested during the discussion of policy; it is a very important role to have in an international forum. Our seven ACWW rep- resentatives express opinions and present resolutions on our behalf concerning human rights. the environment. peace, sustainable development and the status of women.
