Bail-Outâ€"Bucket or 3.0.3. This has been a fund raising project to attempt to ensure stable funding lot the Federated Women's Institutes of Canada (FWIC). Members across Canada were asked to donate $1 per person per year torthe trienniurn. The fund stands at approxi- mater $30300. Alberta is the only province so tar to reach the goal of $1 per member per year; however, new Brunswick may achieve it before the final report at the Convention in Hamilton. Ontario has donated $4,600. lnternatlonal Prolect As lntomalional Convener it was my responsibility to locate an International project. The Knitted Squares tor Zambia Protect was approved. All across Canada . people - young and old. mem- bers and non-members - have been busy knitting and raising funds tor the postage, It has been so successful that the people in Zambia have had to use a small truck to pick up the parcels at the Post Otlice. Over 160.000 squares have been sent to date, and many have not yet sent a Iinal report. A repon will be given at Convention '97. Substance Abuse Project This project was organized by FWIC and funded by Health Canada. It was held in Quebec, New» Ioundland and Saskatchewan. The final repo was presented to Health Canada in Decembe‘ 1995. Mrs. A. (Madge) Watt Memorial Fund Madge Walt was a Canadian who tounded the Iirst WI in England and later the ACWW, at which she was the first President. Mrs. Watt's grave is located in a cemetery near Montreal. FWIC thought it would be a fitting tribute to place a plaque on her grave on the 100th anniversary of the Women's Institute.
