I was, however, very am}: or the dreadful results of the fading away of a source of energy. This awareness has grown over the years as a mun of the many times my car has refused to start become, somehow. the lights did not get turned off when [ mm shopping. l appealed for help to a friend. She gave me a h.“ pile of Home 8: Country magazines and advised me to uni: tt poem. Realizing that one must have some understanslng of a topic before attempting to write a poem about i I tackled the magazines first. As l skimmed over accounts of the history of Worn .‘g institute. This is what makes us feel good a rut ourselves and gives us confidence to volunteer for test The light, which is another form of energy. makc~ lit think of the attitude of openness. the willingness to | rn new things. which allows our members to meet the Chan mg needs of modern society. We must keep ourselves infoi .‘d about community and world affairs so we will be ahlt to make wise decisions about current needs and causes. Last comes the movement or action which a batter} In produce. This corresponds to the work accomplished b). He Institute which is of course. made up of all the I is accomplished by individual members. Whether the task i to attend :1 conference. knit a sweater for a display. holtl m office. work on a committee. or send a card to a cl: person. it contributes to the growth of our branch and ‘nc total organization of the Women‘s Institute.
