One hundred yEars ago, the Ontario Ministryol‘ Agriculture and Food (OMAF) was formed. Back men it was called the Department or Agriculture and by 1890 it employed 35 people, considerably fewer than the 1,100 employed today. By [393, the department had offices at Queen’s Park and by the early 1900‘s many new brandies, including the Livestock Branch. the Fruit Branch. the Agricultural and Horti- cultural Societies Branch. were formed.
