WI members volunteering Volunteer WI members provided great service on behalf of the organization in the past year. Twentyâ€"four volunteers from neighboring branches assisted as hostesses in the WI Hall at the Ontario Agricultural Museum during the special activity days of the season. Each volunteer received an information kit about the hall and museum in general and also went on a tour. The volunteers received copies of the museum's monthly newsletter which made them feel part of the picture. They were also invited to the official opening of the exhibit Rural Women â€" Labour and beisure, held in the Gambrel Barn. About 40 volunteers from various districts staffed the FWIO booth at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair for 10 days in November. Visitors from across Ontario, from all parts of Canada and also from many parts of the world stopped to say. “l am a WI member from. . Perhaps more important were the visitors who stopped to ask, “What is the Women‘s Institute?” Many of these were young, urban women who expressed interest in wanting to belong to an organization where there are no restrictions for membership and where they can learn crafts‘ enjoy fellowship and express views on the social issues which concern them. w H & C Jan.
