THE NEW HANDBOOK For Your Information Mrs. Zoeller. President of the Federated Women‘s Institutes of Ontario is announcing a few of the changes in the new F.W.I.O. Hand- book. The work of the Constitution Commitâ€" tee is completed and it is expected that this new Handbook will be mailed to all members of the Ontario Women’s Institutes late in 1971. The titles for some of the Standing Commit- tees have been changed. They will be as folâ€" lows: 1. Agriculture and Canadian Industries. 2. Citizenship and World Affairs. 3. Education and Cultural Activities. This will include and replace the former Historical Research Committee, 4. Family and Consumer Affairs. 5. Resolutions. AS a further guide, the following are a few suggestions for program material under these. In order that these changes can be made smoothly, area conveners for these newly named Standing Committees were elected at the 1971 area conventions. The new names and the suggested programs will be initiated at the Branch Annual meetings in April 1972 and for the District at the District Annual meetings in May 1972. Agriculture and Canadian Industries â€" Conservation, Pollution, Natural Resources, Production and Marketing Methods, Labour and Economics Consumer Interest (Quality Corttrol), Organizations to promote rural liv- ing. Citizenship and WOrId Affairs â€" Civic Affairs, Legislation, Immigration. Current Events, United Nations, Exchange Programs and Letter Friends. Education and Cultural Activities â€" Women‘s Institute Organization â€" Federat- ed Women’s Institutes of Ontario, Federated Women's Institutes of Canada, The Asso- ciated Country Women of the World. Education at all levelsâ€" Music, Art, Drama, Literature, History, Crafts, Museums and Libraries. Family and Consumer Affairsâ€" Foods and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles, Housing and Home Furnishings, Home and Money Management, Family Relationship, 4-H Homemaking Clubs, all aspects of Health and Safety.
