Diamond In her opening remarks to the members of the Provincial Board of the Federated Wom- en’s Institutes of Ontario, the president gave a special welcome to Mrs. William Miller, newly ‘ ‘ elected Secretary Treasurer, to Miss Susan Ell- er, newly elected Junior Board Director, and to Mrs. David Hamilton in honour of her re- cent marriage. Mrs. Zoeller noted that Miss Eller and her mother Mrs. Lowell Eller were the first mother and daughter team to sit on the Provincial Board. All Board Directors Were in attendance except Mrs. McNeer who has suffered a leg injury, Miss Marion Rnttan, Junior Board Director joined the group on Wednesday. Among the activities of the President Mrs. Zoeller listed, speaking at the Farm Safety Council Banquet where she reported the activiâ€" ties of the Women’s Institutes in promoting Safety; the Awards Banquet at the University of Guelph; Committee meetings â€" finance, in- vestment, Ontario Women‘s Institute Story, SUMMER 1970 Constitution. Oll‘icers' Conference; Ontario Food Council. Junior Women‘s Institute An- nual Meeting at Welland. Although twenty-two invitations were rc- ceived to visit Branch anti District anniversa- ries and other activities. Mrs. Zocllcr said that she found it necessary to limit hcr visits to an- niversaries to those celebrating sixty years and over. She did attend as guest speaker. the Sev- enty Third Anniversary of the Stoney Creek Branch and the chcnticth Anniversary of the Union Branch. She officially opcncri the North chtworth District Art and Hobby Show. the East Elgin District Winter picnic and the ban; quet of the Annual Junior Farmer Conicrcncc. To train our Women's Institute members to become capable leaders. the eighteen group leaders for the 1970 Officers‘ Conference were brought to the Toronto office. With the guidâ€" ance of the Discussion Group Chairman the leaders formulated plans for the discussions at the Conference.
