FLOWERS, APPLES, SLEEPING GARMENTS Something of the work undertaken by the Ontario 4~H Homemaking Clubs was shown to the conference by means of a Demonstration, a Club Exhibit, and a Skit. The Demonstration, “Flower Arrangements" was presented by Miss Carol Harrop, Miss Charlotte Hasson and Miss Rhonda Taylor of the Mosborough No. 1 Club from Wellington County, with Local Leaders â€" Mrs. D. W. Harris and Mrs. W. Barker. The Argyle Club from North Simcoe Coun- ty with Niss Mary Lou Bowen as commentator presented the Club Exhibit, “Ways of Serving Fruit â€" Apples“. The Local Leaders are Mrs. Lloyd Bartholomew and Mrs. Murray Bowen. Miss Jean McCallum, Miss Lorraine Foster and Miss Shirley Poster of the South Vaughan Club from York County were the participants in the Skit, “What Makes Good Sleeping Gare ments“. The Local Leaders are Mrs. George Foster and Mrs. George Laidlaw. Miss Jean McCallum introduced the skit by adopting lines from Shakespeare‘s Romeo and Juliet. "Friends, Romans. Countrymen, Lend me your ear, And see what we've done To a play by Shakespeare. You‘ve studied MacBeth And Taming the Shrew And for years about nothing, There‘s been much ado. You‘re acquainted with Hamlet, Julius Caesar you've met. But are you sure you know Romeo and Juliet? The way we present it Is a Midsummer Night's Dream. It‘s done as you like it And it’s really a scream. It‘s all about garments That you wear at night. Some are on, some are off, Oh, it’s really all right. It's called “Adult Entertainment" (We sell more tickets that way) Although it’s really quite harmless So the children may stay. Paper Capers Trends in clothing for the future were demonstrated for the amusement and informa- tion of the club members at the Girls‘ Conferâ€" ence. The models. country home economists. displayed lovely and disposable dresses made from paper and similar synthetics. Some swish items could be worn for evening; others were for relaxing at home, and sports. The com- mentator was Miss Rosemary Clark, Supenisor of County Home Economists.
