I thought other hranchcs might be interested in knowing that. for one of our Centennial projects. we hope to have a plaque erected at the three entrances to the Town. hearing the Institute Crest and the inscription [or Home and Country. We have been endeavoring to have this done for a num- ber of years without success. hut. hy persist» ent hammering. We have now secured the consent of the Council. As the Town Centennial Project is the renovation of the local lihrary. we are also donating cash for this purpose. For many years we have given a prize to the student obtaining the highest marks in the Home Economics class in the local High School together with prizes for hill-ting and sewing at ottr Fair. At one of our meetings we had our munic- ipal Clerk speak. He explained just how our tax dollars are spent and how the amount of our electric hills and sewage and water ac- counts were arrived at. When a new industry comes to Town. we have the Manager speak at our meeting to explain exactly what his line of industry is. We also had a nurse show slides and speak on “Cancer.” Our District has formed at “Centennial Choir" comprised of members from each of the fourteen Branches in the District. to which. of course. some ol‘ our members belong.
