Updating 50 Years Book Mrs. Gerald Holder presented a report at the committee appointed in I963 who are working on the updating of the book “50 Years of Achievement“. The committee have held meetings and discussed preparation at material and the research and writing neces- sary. Bennett, Dr. Margaret Mc- Cready, Mrs. E. Small. Mrs. L. Trivers, Mrs. J. Charlton and Dr. Ethel Chapman. Hon. Mr. Stewart lauded the Women's Insti- tute for the program contribution they make to the rural living of Ontario and especially praised them for sponsorship and leadership of 4â€"H Homemaking Clubs. (Mr. Stewart, father of four daughters, has intimate knowâ€" ledge of the value and accomplishments of 4-H training). There are 4500 leaders in charge of more than 13,000 club girls. The Minister decried the lack of adequate returns for farm people and hopefully referred to the provincial conference and its outcome on our agricultural economy. “During the past 20 years agricultural production has increased 5.3% while industry, in the same period, has increased only 2.2%," said Mr. Stewart. “And I haven‘t a doubt that we can produce the agricultural products needed if our farm peo- ple receive their necessary share of the pro- vincial economy in recompense for their lab- ours.
